- Daniel initially wanted to become the rugby player like his father but later, he chose cricket as his career.
- He even represented his school ‘St Gregory’s College’ in ‘2000 Football National Championship.’
- At the age of 20, he joined the Australian Cricket Academy.
- He later started playing for the ‘New South Wales’ cricket team for the 2006-2007 season and made his T20 debut in 2006 against ‘Queensland’ at Sydney, Australia.
- When he didn’t get the chance to play for the ‘New South Wales in the 2007-2008 season, he then joined the ‘South Australia’ cricket team and made his first-class debut in 2008 against Victoria at Melbourne, Australia.
