- Sarat Chandra Bose went to England in 1911 to became a Barrister. He had also practiced his work in India for some time but later abandoned it to join the Indian independence movement.
- In the year 1936, he became the president of the Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee and served as a member of the All India Congress Committee from 1936 to 1947.
- After the death of Subhas Chandra Bose, in 1945, Sarat Chandra Bose had led efforts to provide relief and aid to the families of INA soldiers through the INA Defence and Relief Committee.
