- Usha was born and brought up in Karnataka, India.
- Since her childhood, she was interested in acting and dancing and first participated in some activity in her 4th standard.
- She has been participating in various plays and acts from her school days, except for college, as she told that she felt shy from boys, so she avoided performing in front of them at that time.
- Usha used to go to a lot of public Ganesh Utsav events, where she enjoyed watching people dancing on the beats of music, and that eventually made her more enthusiastic about acting.
- Her parents were not at all in favour of her acting, but when she got 7 prizes in one year for her act, they got influenced by her skills and trusted her.
- She started her acting career in 1979 by playing the role of Shanta in the Marathi film ‘Sinhasan.’
- After her debut, she was featured in many Hindi and Marathi films like Shatranj, Gundaraj, Vaastav, One Two Three, Deool, Bhoothnath Returns, and many more.
